A moment about me...O boy! I started trucking around 1974 with a small freight company in Richmond, Va. by the name of Long's Express running freight out of Richmond to Hyattsville Md. with an average of 10 stops on the way and maybe three to seven pickups. I averaged about 320 miles a day, which made for an extremely long day. I later started hauling processed chickens for Holly Farms out of Glen Allen Va to Michigan three trips a week on average. After getting married, it wasn't long before the time away from home became old. I started to work as a body man at a local collision shop in Louisa, Va. and soon became frustrated with insurance companies dictating how well I could do a job. I then opened my on auto restoration business, which I did for around 18 years until the dust and the fumes about killed me. I had the same customer for the last nine years I operated the shop restoring mostly late 60's muscle cars. We ran the AACA circuit and took all the senior awards, the Grand National in Greenville SC and the prestigious best of the best in 1994 at Philly. After leaving the restoration business I started building web sites, which became more of a tax deduction than a profitable venture. My wife Kathy and I were extremely Blessed to purchase 112 acres of land in the Mountains of Amherst Va. three years ago that we hope to soon build a home for ourselves and develop the rest for under-privileged kids, mostly from single parent homes. It soon became apparent that I needed to go back to work to help support the dream project for the kids, which is where I am today. I also have a passion to help relieve ourselves from the current energy crunch and dependency we have on foreign crude oil, which is one of the reasons for diversification. I've started a transport service but am constantly researching ways that will help me so I can help others save and extend the life of our equipment. It is a reality that we are going to have to change the paradigm, or our way of thinking if we are to survive in our business and social lives as we know it.
